Key June 2024 dates

Pay super guarantee contributions so they are received in time to claim a deduction in the 2023 to 24 income year. The ATO explains deductions for super in its guidance on salaries, wages and super contributions.
If you pay via a commercial clearing house, the contribution is not considered paid until it reaches the super fund, so allow enough processing time as noted under missed and late super guarantee payments.
If you use the ATO Small Business Superannuation Clearing House, contributions may be treated as paid on the date the SBSCH accepts them, although funds can still take time to receive the money, as outlined under super payment due dates.
Tip on calendar clashes
If a due date falls on a weekend or public holiday, you can lodge or pay on the next business day, per the ATO’s rule on due dates.
Super timing checklist
Use this quick checklist to avoid losing your deduction for 2023 to 24.

Verify the batch has been received by the super fund before 30 June using the ATO’s guidance on super payment due dates.

FAQ
Do I lodge a June payroll tax periodic return in Queensland
No. Queensland combines June wages in the annual payroll tax return due in July, as shown under QRO payroll tax due dates.
When is a super contribution considered paid for deduction purposes
When the super fund receives it, not when you authorise the payment or send it to a commercial clearing house, per the ATO’s page on missed and late super.
Do monthly BAS lodgers ever get extra time
Monthly BAS is due on the 21st of the next month and does not receive the same extensions that sometimes apply to quarterly BAS, per the ATO’s BAS due dates.
What is the FBT due date if my agent lodges electronically
The due date is 25 June for electronic lodgment through the practitioner lodgment service, as listed on the ATO’s FBT return due dates.
